Music Marketing ReviewTechnorati

Site Review:

Technorati bills itself as "the leading blog search engine and most comprehensive source of information on the blogosphere". As such, if you have a blog for your band (and you should), you may want to sign up for an account. Once you sign up, you are supposed to update your profile and "claim" your blog. Claiming your blog allows you to have it indexed by Technorati, and to associate your profile with your blog in Keyword and Tag Search results. A number of useful widgets are also available. There is a "watchlist" feature that allows you to submit subjects or URLs that you are interested in, and they will aggregate blog posts for you, not unlike what one might expect from Google Alerts. You may want to at least add your band name to your watch list. Unfortunately, at the time of this review, their site is experiencing technical difficulties. Every time I try to upload my profile photo or claim by blog URL, it kicks back an "unexpected error". I guess I'll have to try again some other time and follow-up here with my findings...

Update: I was able to "claim" by blog several days later, so it is now tied to my account.
